Laura Hauge

My Philosophy and Methods Did you know that only 24 percent of 8th and 12th grades students were proficient at writing, according to a report by the National Assessment of Educational Progress in 2011? This means 75 percent of students did not have the ability to just communicate an intended message, such as an email to a boss. I help students break into this 24 percent by teaching paragraph structure (simple to advanced), as well as essay and research paper formation, to students from 4th grade through college age. In my writing classes I pull from a variety of curriculum (Write Shop, Institute for Excellence in Writing, etc.) to design each class around the balance of parental goals and student weaknesses/gifts. Each session is 1 hour, and the duration of the class can be either for the whole school year or a semester, depending on individual goals and needs.

Lee’s Korean Martial Arts

Grandmaster Kidong Lee is an 8th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Tang Soo Do, certified by The World Tae Kwon Do Federation, the Korean Hapkido Federation, and the Pan Am Tang Soo Do Federation. Grandmaster Lee has triumphed in numerous competitions; including first place in the Korean Tae Kwon Do Championships and first place in the Korean Open Martial Arts Tournament. He was also a member of the Korean National Demo Team. Grandmaster Lee has been instructing martial arts professionally since 1971. From 1973 to 1987 he served as Martial Arts Instructor at the Osan Air Force Base for the United States Air Force. When he fulfilled his obligation in 1987, he left South Korea to share his experience and knowledge with the people of the United States. Grandmaster Lee opened his first U.S. dojang in Rancho Cordova in 1989. He has been serving the Sacramento area for over 30 years. He now runs his Rancho Cordova school with his son, Master Alex Lee.

Lena’s Simple Music

My passion is to teach music and give students experience playing with natural self-expression. Also, have a huge repertoire of sound, and music so they have the knowledge to progress on their own, and most importantly feel great about themselves, a sense of victory.  My goal is to give society a better choice of understanding and experiencing music that creates a different point of view in teaching. From my experience, I discover that this methodology is very easy for students to grasp and achieve goals than any other method. Students enjoy the speed of the process of growing and trigger self-generated curiosity in music.

LESSONS I am an instructor in El Dorado Hills, teaching voice & piano lessons out of my home recording studio. I only teach on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and currently do not have many afternoon openings. I do have plenty of morning availability. Please let me know if you are interested in setting something up. Contact me if you would like to learn to develop your voice and/or piano ability with skill and confidence! I focus on the basics of theory, voice placement & technique, posture, vocal health, performance and much more. A variety of musical styles will be encouraged. Individual lessons will be given on a weekly basis for a thirty minute or an hour session. I feel that practicing outside of the lesson is very important for musical growth. All skill levels are welcome and no previous music experience is required. I usually hold recitals twice a year to give my students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience - it helps them battle stage fright and nerves.

Liberty Learning Academy

Liberty Learning Academy is a non-profit independent educational support and tutoring center located in South Nevada County. We are not a private or charter school. We offer a variety of academic and enrichment classes to support homeschool families as well as after-school tutoring for students in public or private school. Students can use educational funds offered through independent study/homeschool charter programs, private money or scholarship funds to pay for our classes.

The Suzuki Violin School of Placerville has been providing violin and viola instruction for 30+ years. The program includes both private and group lessons. Students also have the opportunity to perform solo and as a group. The Suzuki Violin School of Placerville is a member of Suzuki Association of the Americas, and welcomes students of all ages.

I offer private piano lessons in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute weekly sessions at my home in Roseville, California Lessons are tailored to each student based on skill level (Beginning through Advanced). Students will go through a curriculum including method books and theory to teach the fundamentals of note reading and piano technique.
