1. Everyone Gets To Have Fun!
Our primary guideline for how we act and interact in our community space is allowing all of our guests to enjoy their experience.
Please be considerate of all of our guests and be mindful of their experiences as well as your own. If anything is keeping you or others from the fun, please notify a volunteer staff member and we will do our best to make it right.
- Please no running, rough housing, or yelling in the center. We are a parent participation learning center; all guests should be able to study here.
- Please do not allow children to stand on chairs or sit on tables as we do not have commercial grade furniture or funds to replace broken items.
- Please keep your voices down during Kinder Hour so all our amazing kids can hear the teacher.
- Please use kind words and be helpful when interacting with other guests.
- Please supervise your children at all times, including in the art room. Guests should enjoy our art room materials, but not cause excessive waste.
- We rely on parents to make sure their kids are following our Code of Conduct
2. Keep A Culture of Community
When all our families work together to make everyone's experience an enjoyable one, we all benefit.
- Please do your best to reset stations after your children are finished with a project or lab. We’re all parents here, so we certainly understand the times when it’s tough to do more – no worries! We’re all here to support each other and our friendly volunteers are happy to help.
- Our sensory play area does get messy – thank you for wanting to help keep it clean. We’d love some help sweeping the kernels under the table (they’re sanitized later in a special process.) Please do not return them to the table or throw them away.
- We understand that disagreements can happen between guests. Please keep resolutions kind and respectful, and ask for help from our directors before giving any situation a chance to become negative. Please model kind and respectful community for all our kids.
3. No Drop-Offs, Parents Stay On Site
Family Learning Lab is a family space - we do not provide supervision services. A parent or guardian must stay on site while a child is here.
4. Food & Drink at The Lab
You are welcome to eat and drink at FamLab with the following considerations:
- Please do not bring nut products into the center. There are areas outside you are welcome to eat at if your food includes nut products.
- Please do not bring in any glass products.
- Absolutely NO food or drinks are allowed inside sensory play area – even water.
- Please only bring in drinks with lids
