For over 18 years, Hands in Motion has been dedicated to serving the homeschool community. Our experienced teachers use hands-on learning experiences to educate students across a range of subjects, including sports, creative arts, writing, science, language, trades, history and hands-on building projects. We invite you to join us in empowering your child's learning journey by putting their "Hands in Motion" !
Let's get these kids off screens and outside! Not only are our classes fun and convenient for the whole family, but we keep the class sizes small to make sure students get the education they deserve. We strive to develop an appreciation for agriculture, nature, and the outdoors in every child that attends class. You won't find the same hands-on farm experience at any other location! We recommend the majority of our classes for ages 5 and up and have several classes just for teens as well as monthly preschool story times. Our classes are outdoors (weather permitting, we also have an indoor classroom) and involve a variety of farm-related topics.
Our mission is to provide homeschooling families a central location where they can engage in classical education classes while alleviating the stress of driving all over town for these enriching experiences. Our goal is to help each student realize their genius, promote a passion for learning, and develop new skills. Our devoted teachers have discovered their own love of learning and use their expertise to inspire these characteristics in the children they teach and nurture. Love of Learning classes support and enrich what is taught at home. We encourage communication and collaboration with our families and teachers. We will not teach to state or federal tests, but we will do what homeschooling families have always done—give children a true education and a deep love of learning!
We believe that effective learning addresses the combined intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of the child. Active learning is central to our philosophy. While we work to give children of all ages repeated opportunities to interact with their physical and social environment, we feel that it is the children themselves who ultimately accept the responsibility to gain an understanding of their world. As educators, we facilitate and guide this process by the questions we ask, the goals we set, the information and experiences we provide, the environment we create, and the behavior we model. Learning occurs when children develop problem-solving skills and become active agents in their own education. We also believe that each child learns as an individual. Our challenge is to build on the child's innate desire to learn. To do this, Roseville Community Shool (RCS) provides a climate where children are encouraged to make full use of their senses, feelings, and minds.
Take Note Troupe is a youth development organization composed of committed enthusiasts striving to change the world through uplifting productions, Play Theory workshops, and award winning adaptations of Shakespeare. Over the years TNT has mentored hundreds of youth and served thousands more in the community. TNT strengthens society by providing young people a safe environment to develop valuable life skills and an opportunity to serve through theatrical performance and classes. Fundamental to our programs is Play Theory — cognitive behavioral therapy principles based on improv rules that teach participants to Be Present, Let Go and Play, Accept and Build, and Look Outward. Play Theory changes lives and helps those who apply it to choose happiness. In a world where teenagers struggle with depression, anxiety, and a lack of empathy, PLAY THEORY helps them learn to find joy and to spread it. Annually each spring, Take Note Troupe performs Shakespeare in the Park in Auburn, Fair Oaks, Folsom, and Roseville as a gift to the community. All performing arts classes and summer camps feature Play Theory including acting, singing, musical theater, improv comedy, and more. Students with Take Note Troupe regularly sing carols for community Christmas Tree lightings and in shopping districts and give workshops in Play Theory for area schools and businesses. Family-friendly performances are performed each winter and spring at the Take Note Troupe studio that is equipped with a stage and lighting. Monthly improv comedy shows by On the Spot Improv, TNT’s audition-only top-tier team of local high school improvisers from the area, are offered during the school year. Take Note Troupe relies heavily on volunteers to help achieve its mission. All of its board members are volunteers and Take Note Troupe is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
