This week's theme is Birds!

It’s the “tweetest” thing you’ve ever seen! This week’s theme is for the birds! 🐦Can you spot all the birds around the co-school with your binoculars? Try out some fun bird watching famlab style and scoop and pour at our themed sensory play experience. Got a kid who LOVES to get messy? Our Sensory Seekers this week is oobleck with bird seed (gotta love adding that texture!) SO much is happening when kids get to experience hands on learning and manipulating the 3D world and we’re all about that learn through play! Our Art Exploration Station is all set up for you, too! Try some multi-pass monoprints (start with the feathers, you won’t be disappointed!) We wanna see some combo art with a print by each member of your family in the same artwork! That would be so awesome! Oh, and think you’re better than a bird? Try out your own beak design or build your own nest at our Science Exploration Station and see how your builds compare to those of our feathered friends. Don’t miss any of the fun at FamLab this week!

🐝Spring Break Is Coming – Tell your friends!
March 30th – April 3rd will be our Spring Break programming here at FamLab. This is a huge week for us as we’ll be piloting our Summer plans! As vouchers wane, becoming a cash based business is crucial to our surviving the summer. Could you help us spread the word that we will be open Spring Break? Invite a friend who normally can’t come because they’re in school or other programming! The theme will be bees and we will have so many cute bee themed things to do! THANK YOU for all your wonderful support! Together we can make FamLab stay open and become something truly needed in our community 🙂

🧱New Lego Class is coming to FamLab!

Bright Brick Academy will be teaching a 10 week Lego building class here at FamLab starting April 22nd! Classes are 1 hour on Wednesdays at 3:30pm and must be booked for the entire 10 week session. BBA is giving us priority with booking since the class sizes are very small, so if you are interested please sign up this weekend. These classes are unique in that kids will get to create a new build each week that they get to take home. Link for more info and to purchase:  https://square.link/u/divb2roR

📢 Last Call For Art & Lost & Found!

We are long overdue for a huge hallway cleanout! Please pick up any left behind art or items by the end of this week as we will begin tossing them or donating them this weekend. Thank you!

👪 Community Group Pilot

We are looking for some families to help us test out a new online community group for Family Learning Lab. If you like new tech or this is interesting to you, please join the group so we can see if it will be a good fit for our center! The idea is that this group will be a central hub for families who want to connect with each other, maybe organize a group lesson at FamLab or some play dates with people they met here. We may even add students only events, downloadable lab sheets, even online classes at some point. It could be a great resource for families wanting to help us create a more cohesive community where you can find your people.  Join link is here: https://cew1yodpbdfzsjhfhupj.app.clientclub.net/communities/groups/famlab/home?invite=69b5649f81623887464b66a9

📰 New Brochure Is Here!

I worked hours this weekend on a tri-fold brochure that clarifies the business and tells most everything we’re about in one paper! 🥳So many of you have been asking for flyers to give to people you know. I will have a basket full at the front table – please take one for yourself and as many as you can pass out! FamLab has grown almost entirely because of our wonderful families who have been spreading the word and I just couldn’t be more humbled and thankful! 👀 FamLab Is Actively Seeking A New Working Board Member

If you love the FamLab vision and want to be a part of building a grass roots nonprofit organization that strengthens parent led education, we’d love to chat! You might just be the next board member we are looking for to add to our team! This is a volunteer position (comped family memberships may be offered as a thank you) and requires at least 4 hours/week of in person or remote contribution, as well as attending quarterly board meetings. If you are interested in serving on our board (looks GREAT on a resume!) please email [email protected].
