homeschool enrichment center in citrus heights

It's our first week of our BRAND NEW semester, and we can't wait to share all the new fun with you!

New Classes Start This Week!

  • Social Studies Discovery Labs – Grades 1 and 5
  • TWO Reading Labs now – one for oral reading in a group and the other for reading comprehension & sharing
  • Monday Crafternoons – come craft with friends, grownups too!
  • Lego Masters – try your hand at a variety of lego challenges (with plenty of STEM learning behind the scenes.)
  • Jr. Science – themed science activities after Kinder Hour
  • Cardboard Creators – build a variety of really cool projects using cardboard, it’s STEAM all the way
  • Math Study Labs Mondays and Wednesdays – support independent study for some focused math work time, grades 1 thru 5
  • Wacky Writers now has a second class – nonfiction writing (but still just as wacky) resistant writers become instant writing fans!
  • GeoQuest – State lapbooks. Kids will get time to work on a state lapbook project (4th graders can work on CA!) Join anytime, do as many as you like.
  • Art Discovery Lab – Now includes an art tutoring element. Ms Tiffany will be leading all students through a base art project. Fast finishers can move on to other things while students with an interest in taking their art further will get personal help, suggestions, and ideas from our professional artist.
  • Jr. Entrepreneur – have a kiddo who wants to learn some real business skill and sell an actual product or service? We’ll lead kids through real business steps and strategies and end the year with a Maker’s Market. Join anytime, but we recommend hitting as many classes as possible.
  • Clay Creators – come experiment with no-kiln clays as we work through a variety of projects. Taught by an incredibly talented teen volunteer – your kids are gonna LOVE this!
  • Note: Our Kinder Art, Wednesday Afterschool Craft, and Friday Guided Art will all be the same weekly themed project, just differentiated for the group.

If you intend to use vouchers for classes at FamLab, please request those ASAP.

We’re a little nervous about deadlines fast approaching. We are set up with most charters as a monthly service vendor, so you can request monthly vouchers through May, according to your charter’s guidelines. You can always pair our discounted private pay passes with vouchers to make sure your kiddos don’t miss out on any of the fun!

New Spring Schedule!

New Class Categories

EL: Exploration Lab. These classes begin with a mini instruction or challenge, then allow students free time to create, explore, and tackle that challenge. Examples: Cardboard creators – students are given instruction on a type of construction, then a challenge. Students are then given the remaining time to free create.

DL: Discovery Lab. These classes are lead from beginning to end by a teacher. Our Discovery Labs keep our eclectic, hands-on approach, but are lead the entire time by a teacher. Examples: Kinder Discovery Hour – Teacher leads students through circle time activities the entire hour.

SL: Study Lab. These labs are designed for independent study that’s supported through an encouraging teacher who’s there to keep kids on task, help them reach their goals, and help them with problems as needed. Example: Math Study Lab – kids work independently but supported and guided by staff.

CA: Co-school Activity These sessions have a community center type vibe with group work that’s facilitated by staff. They’re not classes you would purchase, but are available for any of our guests to enjoy when they’re here on a day pass or for students enrolled in Kinder Hour or an All Class Bundle. Examples: Monday Crafternoons, Social Fridays, and Mindful Movement.

Confused About Pricing?

We’re a bit of a rebel and we don’t like fitting into other people’s models! We price things according to what we feel is best for families, not the industry. For better or worse, we want to serve YOU first.

Let’s break down how our pricing works:

Day Pass: $10 per child age 3 and older. Includes everything on the schedule for the day from 9am to 3pm. Best for families trying things out or only attending every once in awhile.

Day Pass Punch Card: $60 for 10 child day passes, sharable among siblings. Best for large families trying out the center and families wanting to come more often without committing to a month class but needing a price break.

One Month One Class One Student: $40. Best for students who just want to attend one class like Cardboard Creators. Does not include any access outside of class time.

All Class Bundle One Month One Student: $80 ($56 private pay). Best for students wishing to attend more than one class, includes all access to our center programming from M-F 9am to 3pm.

All Class Bundle Three Months One Student: $200 ($140 private pay.) Best for students wishing to attend more than one class for three months, includes all access to our center programming from M-F 9am to 3pm.

All Class Bundle Three Months Whole Family: $500 ($350 private pay) A price break for larger families, best for families with 3 or more children ages 3 and up who want all access to our center M-F 9am to 3pm. Includes 2 adult admissions.

Kinder Hour 1 Student: $80/mo, $200/3mo. (30% off for private pay) Kinder Hour is included in our All Class Bundle. Some families find that specifying Kinder Hour to their charter is an easier process because it’s specifically designed for TK, Kinder, and 1st grade students. You may purchase Kinder Hour at the same price point as an All Class Bundle with the same benefits. Do NOT purchase both.

*Private pay discounts do not apply to day passes, punch cards, or single classes.

And finally, a personal note from Ms Christy

How could I ever express how thankful I am for all our beautiful wonderful families?!? Our Christmas fundraiser and Noon Year’s Eve party all sold out and the support I personally felt through this season is immeasurable. Each month is a roller coaster, but YOU show up, bring your AMAZING KIDDOS and prove that together we really can make something great here! With all my heart I hope that this semester I can bring something of deep value to your family and continue bringing our community together. If there’s anything I can do to make your homeschooling experience better, please reach out! This place is not mine by any measure, it belongs to YOU, to our homeschool community, and I truly believe it can continue to evolve into something that can radically change the way we homeschool… together!

With all my love,

Christy
