Have a student who’s not entirely thrilled with math? Try our in person math class that’s designed for max fun + max retention!
We use a combination of CTCMath and a wacky variation of teaching styles to keep kids engaged and feeling chill while we progress through easy to understand lessons that perfectly align to state standards. We cover 2 lessons in each class and complete all homework during class. We use an exit ticket system in lieu of tests to demonstrate learning. All students will have their own logins for CTCMath which gives you access to additional practice and exams.
Classes meet twice a week for two hours.
A typical class follows this basic format:
- Fast paced crazy fun warm-up game – focus on math fact memorization
- 5 to 7 minute instructional lesson #1 – CTCMath Video
- Class solves online questions together
- Students work in pairs, groups, or alone on a 10 question worksheet.
- BREAK & SNACK
- Short physical challenge, activity or game
- 5 to 7 minute instructional lesson #2 – CTCMath Video
- Class solves online questions together
- Students work in pairs, groups, or alone on a 10 question worksheet.
- Quick recap game or activity
- Exit tickets handed out (two questions that review the day’s lessons)
- Kids choose a prize when they correctly solve their exit ticket.

Our classes are something “extra!” We use flexible seating like papasan chairs, bean bags and couches (don’t worry we have desks and tables too! ) We encourage kids to sit wherever they’re comfortable and they’re welcome to move around during class. We teach from different sides of the room throughout the class to keep things moving along. We have a fidget table filled with all sorts of fidget aids like boogie boards, clay and playdough, and quiet fidget toys. We also provide and encourage (nut free) snacks and drinks during class.
We are 100% open and available to work with kids who have special challenges and needs in order to make their learning successful. Students must be able to learn in a group setting without disrupting other student’s ability to learn. We are more than happy to work with you to make that happen. Noise cancelling headphones, sitting near the front, even extra tutoring and help is available to help your kiddo get through their studies.
