Join us for our March Fun Friday! *NEW: Crafts for tweens & teens (grownups are welcome to craft too!)
This is a FREE event. We welcome a $2
donation if you’re able to contribute towards supplies, it really helps! Thank you!

Friday, March 7th 10am *Rain or shine*
Tempo Park, Citrus Heights (at covered picnic area if not in use, otherwise at tables set up by play area. look for our sign)
SENSORY PLAY – Two simple stations will be set up for kids to engage in sensory play. One station will be woodland play – free play with items found in nature like acorns, pine cones, wood rounds, leaves etc. Try to make a funny face or just free play! Another station will offer a bin of rice for kids to scoop, pour into funnels, and add to flower pots to plant silk flowers.
STORYTIME – Ms. Christy will be reading “Acorn Was A Little Wild” which tells the story of an adventure seeking acorn who discovers the ultimate adventure, growing into an oak tree. I’m hoping to have enough acorns for each kiddo to hold during the story so they can imagine their acorns acting out the adventures.
CRAFT – We’ll be making fairy and hobbit houses! We’ve differentiated this craft to apply to literally all ages. Tiniest tots can glue green tissue paper to their small houses and add a variety of items to decorate it. We’ll have moss, mini mushrooms, shells, rocks, sticks, gems, flowers, etc for older kids to decorate their houses as they like. We are also bringing a variety of items that will be very fun for tweens and teens to go even further with the craft. The tweens+ art station will be open near the beginning of the event so feel free to bring your older kids out to craft at the park!
**IMPORTANT NOTE** Sensory play includes a variety of ingredients and materials that may present choking hazards for small children, potential allergic reactions, and simply won’t taste good. Please be mindful of any allergies your children may have. A supervising adult must be present with their children during the entire event, and we ask that you supervise “mouthers” very closely. All participating parties must have a signed waiver on file.
