Play “store” or “kitchen” and take orders and deliver requested items.
Play “I Spy” and practice naming objects around the room.
Name some objects in books and magazines.
Play teacher and teach your grownup or older sibling what you learned.
Draw pictures and tell a grownup what you drew.
Make your own “textbook.” Cut paper in half, then fold and staple to make a small book. Student can write and draw in the book everything they just learned. Pre-writers can then orally explain what is drawn in the book to a grownup.

We love playing I Spy on a walk around the block. It’s a great way to build vocabulary and literally name everything we see 🙂
